Mamak, Malaysian Roti and Satay

Last Saturday, I went to Sydney to catch up with a friend and for lunch we went to Mamak. They Sydney store is near China town just at the end of the road and up so it’s pretty close to the CBD.

Mamak is named after roadside stalls of Kuala Lumpur and is famous for authentic and traditional flavours. They are also an award winning restaurant!

Normally, there is always a long line at the front of the restaurant but since we went after lunch time like around 3pm so it was pretty empty. Which was good because it is a small restaurant and can get really cramped when every place is filled. img_6524

^ see how empty it is, so it was quiet for us!

The staff was so nice, they made suggestions to us and asked whether we liked the food etc! They were really nice!

There was only two of us so we only order two dish. An egg roti and the chicken satay. The egg roti comes with 2 curries, a vegetarian one and an original curry i think and on the side is some chilli sauce. I can’t eat spice that much so we didn’t want to order really spicy things but the curry was good with the roti.

The chicken satay was amazing! I love the peanut satay sauce so much!!!!!! They also had beef but we chose the chicken one as the staff recommended the chicken one as well.

For dessert, we got the famous Roti Tisu! It stands up like a cone with a scoop of ice-cream as a side. It a butter roti with sugar but its made to be very thin and crispy! It’s also very big so I recommend it to be shared with someone else but you can also eat it all yourself hahaha!img_6533

Overall the price wasn’t bad and it was filling! Because I shared with my friend so when we split the price in half it was still under $20 so it was good!!! The restaurant is easy to get to and the staff are very nice. If you go in the off-peak hours, the place is actually very comfortable and quiet. But during peak hour, you might need to line up for a long time before going in and it’s pretty loud and cramped. The food is amazing so I recommend people to try this restaurant!!!

Same time tomorrow? – Kürtösh Café

Kürtösh is a really cool café in Wollongong and Surry Hill. The one in Wollongong has a very cozy and vintage feel to it.

The door is very hard to see but once you find it, its really cool. Since it’s has that vintage feel, the lighting is quite dark.

The really good thing about Kürtösh is that you can choose the size of your cake slice. They have all kinds of cakes and you pay by the weight of the cakes. You can choose how much you want.

I love to try many different flavours so I go with a group of people and we all just share the cakes.

We shared this with about 10 people. We got a slice of Lemon Tart, Duo Mousse, Strawberry sponge cake, peanut butter cake, Salted caramel and Tiramisu. They also sell chimney cake (Kürtösh) which is a traditionally Hungarian pastry.

Personally, the Duo Mousse, Tiramisu and Strawberry Sponge is my favourite!  The cakes are made daily so they are fresh! They also do really good coffee. Chai Latte is my favourite!!!

Kürtösh really is a nice place to catch up with friends and family or just a place to get some cake for yourself 🙂

SEVENTEEN 1st Asia Pacific Tour: Shining Diamonds 2016 Sydney

On 28th August 2016, I went to my first concert ever! It was SEVENTEEN’s first tour!!!!

I just recently got a new part time job and was able to pay for a concert ticket. For Sydney it was at Big Top at Luna Park.

This was my first time at Big Top. Although it wasn’t a big arena but it wasn’t small either. There was 2 moshpit areas for the fanmeet and sitting areas. I was in the sitting area near the back but I was still able to see them pretty well. Big Top is a good venue in my opinion.

The fanmeet starts at 6pm but my friend and I were there at 2 already because why not. There were fansite masters around who sold banners and merchandise and also gave out a lot of free stuff, so I collected a lot of stuff. I did still buy official merchandise.

We were not allowed cameras so I just used my phone 🙂

SEVENTEEN were amazing!! like in most live concerts, you don’t expect everyone to be really good but with SEVENTEEN when they weren’t actually singing, you can only hear the background music. Their voices were amazing and they didn’t really make mistakes! Their choreography were on point as well!!! They were just so good!! But then again SEVENTEEN and EXO are my most favourite group so yea 😀

Since Joshua spoke english, he was the emcee for both the Melbourne and Sydney fanmeet in Australia!!! Joshua is my bias so I was so happy to hear his voice for 2 hours!!! ^_^

Since it was a fanmeet, they did variety games as well as performance and it was fun to watch!! It was just amazing!!!

From the official merchandises, I’ve bought the light stick and both the shirts. One shirt for me and the other for my friend. The only thing I didn’t buy was the suspenders. Although they looked good, when will I ever have the chance to wear them? But I am happy with all the fans and photocards I’ve got for free on the day form the fansites 🙂

I’ve made a vlog about SEVENTEEN sydney fanmeet so check it out to see some of their performance and stuff!!! Click here –> SEVENTEEN Sydney Fanmeet 2016

A flower is all you need

As the title say it really is just a flower.
A small gesture can make someone’s day into a good day. A simple gesture….
While being at university, the Wellbeing Club of my uni made all these cards and tied them to a flower to give to people.
My friends and I were just sitting at a table at lunch and a girl came over with a lot of flowers and gave each one of us a flower.
Each flower had a card on it with a different message and they were all nice messages to compliment someone!
Like the one I receive, a simple flower with a message: “Are you made of Fluorine, Iodine and Neon? Cause you are F.I.Ne (fine)”
That made us very happy for the rest of they day.
A random act of kindness is all you need.

Worry Not

Recently one of my friend gave me a worry doll as a birthday present.DSC00322.JPG

It a small knitted doll that comes with a pouch.
A piece of paper also has the instruction of how to use it.
Guatemalan Worry People
“There is a story that when the Mayan people of Guatemala have worries, they tell them to The Worry Dolls and then put them under their pillow at night. By morning the worry dolls have taken all the worries away.”

It very cute and everyone should stress less and worry less. I do think talking to someone about your problems is good but if you don’t want to tell anyone, a worry doll is a great idea. 😀

Keep smiling~

Happiness Kit

Since I am a year 12 students, HSC is pretty close and I have just gone through trial.

These stressful time always manage to make everyone upset.
But my school’s St Vincent de Paul club decided to make these Happiness Kit for every year 12 students.
It was very unexpected and everyone was very touch by such small things.

Inside, there’s various item with meaning.

On the card, it listed the items and meanings.

A marble, so no one can say you’ve lost yours
A jewel, so you never lose your sparkle
A button, to press in case of panic
A star, to wish all your wishes upon
A rubber band, to stretch yourself beyond your limits
A piece of string, to tie things together if they fall apart

Something so simple and ordinary can become something that’s worth treasuring.
I hope everyone stress less and enjoy life to the max!
